A Little Background About Me
I believe in working for yourself and getting paid for the work you put into it rather than being paid by the hour. That being said it should be through something that can help others and above all else that you actually enjoy.
Let me step back a moment and explain how I got here. About 7 or 8 years ago I was working for a well-known Canadian bank when I couldn’t tug myself between the company’s objectives and properly helping customers out. This lead me to the following, unemployed, employed, contract work, contract work and finally unemployed again for the past few years.
Through some REALLY tough times mentally I was able to come out the other side and realize a few things:
- You can make a lot more money when you exit the paid-by-hour race
- You can absolutely enjoy what you do and make money
- I can under no circumstances go back to working for someone else
After these epiphanies, I took up photography in 2021 and looked into how I could make money doing this. This is how I started my site Pursue Photo Prowess. It is a blog site dedicated to teaching beginner and budding photographers from a beginner’s perspective how to learn the basics of photography.
The pursuit of learning photography lead me to discover a lot of outdoor places near my home when I lived in Ontario. When it came time to move back home to Nova Scotia I realized there was so much of this beautiful province begging to be discovered. There are only so many landscape photographs you can take before you move on to learning other techniques but I wanted to share these new to me and rediscovered places with the world.
Thus this website was born. I am not a fan of long-winded articles and have decided to keep the main pages about places fairly short to make it easier to inspire others on what they want to do and see when discovering this province for themselves.
