Eastern Shore

  • Despite there being over 300 small communities between Dartmouth and Canso the largest two communities are Guysborough and Canso each with a population of less than 1000.
  • The biggest tourist draw is the multiple fisheries museums which showcase the rich fishing communities’ past, many sandy beaches and a growing number of cottages.
  • Even though the fishing industry has waned considerably there are still a number of fishing villages along this coastal area that contribute to a very quintessential Nova Scotia scenic drive.
